Chapter2 Fitness is a unique facility with a tremendous member base with a community-like feeling. Our gym mentality allows all members to feel that they are not only part of a workout, but rather a way of life. We are home to CrossFit C2F, Chapter2fitness’ registered Crossfit affiliation and Motion Matters, our in-house Physical Therapy Clinic

Our experienced coaches are from a wide variety of disciplines including Crossfit coaches and competitors, Personal Trainers, Physical Therapists, Strength and Conditioning coaches and boxing coaches. As a result our classes, programmes and personal training models are unique, exciting, modern and varied, combining the best of these backgrounds and experiences.

At C2 Fitness we aim to improve your fitness, strength, balance, agility, coordination, movement and endurance through our range of high energy, high intensity group classes.

You can expect to be at the gym for at least 60 minutes. Wear comfortable gym attire that you can train in, and shoes that are suitable for indoor and outdoor activity.

In May 2014 Chapter2 Fitness opened its first facility to meet the demand of its members; and to be able to offer additional services to set them apart from the rest.

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that can be applied to pretty much everyone. From elite athletes to the elderly in nursing homes, if you’re interested in moving your body, it can probably help you.

BROAD: CrossFit delivers fitness that is – by design – broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is that we do not specialize. From Combat, to survival, to organized sports, to life itself, CrossFit will allow you to reach new levels of performance. Conversely, it will punish the specialist.

UNIVERSALLY SCALABLE: The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of his/her experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease to high level professional rugby players. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change the programs.

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not by kind. Our Police, foot ballers, boxers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.



BRIEF HISTORY: CrossFit was developed in Santa Cruz, California by Greg Glassman in the Late 90′s. Greg’s mission was to develop a CODE for FITNESS via clinical trial (ie measuring inputs and outputs).

Much like how the LINUX operating system was created out of a gift culture and is free for anyone to download, CrossFit is open source; there are no franchising fees, no gimics to sell, and anyone can access this “code” here!

Like any science, CrossFit is constantly evolving. The CrossFit Community is constantly looking for what works and what doesn’t in the realm of getting people more fit. If an exercise provides superior results, it stays in the program; if not, it is banished to the scrap heap.

And what we have discovered over time, through trial and error, is a code for fitness.

CODE FOR FITNESS: The Code for Fitness is essentially uncomplicated and comprises three elements

1) Functional Movements
 (movements, which replicate real life)
2) Intensity 
(harder and faster works better than long and slow)
3) Variance (movements and workouts are constantly varied)

The idea behind the code then is to complete functional movements, as fast as possible, and constantly mix the movements up.
This “time component” on the workouts means that CrossFit has essentially become “The Sport of Fitness,” because it re-introduces personal athletic achievement and performance to training. The mindset at the start of each workout is to be stronger, to move faster and more efficiently, with better form than ever.
This is why, even after years of training CrossFit style, scores and times in workouts continue to drop and athletes continue to improve. Its hard, fun, exciting, challenging, and will push you to be your absolute best!

NER: The end result is that CrossFit gives you a Neuro-endocrince Response

Neuro = Brain & Central nervous system

Endocrine = Hormones such as Testosterone, Human Growth Hormone, Insulin like growth factor

Response = the response from your body by taxing it to its core with variety, intensity, and multi-joint, full body, functional movements.

CrossFit C2F is Strength & Conditioning Centre which has a very specific way of delivering the CrossFit program.

Gary Burns is our in house Physio. His knowledge on human movement provides huge benefit to the technicality of coaching.
Jamie Headon, Irelands official number 1 CrossFitter 2015 brings top class experience in CrossFit, Competitive programming, and the “tips & tricks” to help learn new skills/achieve personal bests.

At CrossFit C2F all workouts can be scaled both up and down to suit all levels of fitness and capabilities.

Motion Matters is our onsite physical therapy clinic. The treatments provided at the clinic are aimed at relieving pain, injury and dysfunction in muscle and soft tissue and eliminating restrictions in movement and motion through a series of manipulative hands on treatments such as Deep tissue or sports massage, trigger point dry needling, M.E.T’s etc.

At Motion Matters we treat a wide range of conditions including sports injuries, chronic pain issues and conditions, repetitive strain injuries and pain or dysfunctions which are sustained as part of sport, exercise or everyday life. We pay particular attention to posture and range of motion as an indicator to past, current and potential future injuries/conditions.

Deep tissue and sports massage are also great tools for preparation or recovery from sports events or tough training. Many people build these treatments into their training regime as part of their recovery and maintenance.

Other services offered include body composition testing and body fat analysis, nutritional and programming advice.
